In order to continue our work we need your help
Our organisation depends on donations, big and small to continue fighting for Tasmania's biodiversity and unique natural values.
By donating to the TCT you will:
oppose bad planning decisions that favour property developers and shut out community concerns
prevent over-development in local reserves and national parks
protect threatened and endangered species, including their important habitat.
We guarantee that 100% of your donation will be used for campaigning, research and advocacy.
All our donations are processed as purchases using PayPal's secure service.
All donations above $2 are fully tax deductible.
One of only 10 populations of Spotted Handfish is in danger because of a pipeline intended to irrigate a golf course.
The pipeline will cut through a marine conservation area south of the Arm End Nature Recreation Area, where a developer plans to build a golf course and exclude the community from their local public reserve.
Any leaks or incidents during operations or construction would potentially harm the critically endangered Spotted Handfish.
The Spotted Handfish needs very clean water to breed, any reduction in its habitat or Handfish numbers would be a disaster for this marvelous marine creature, found no-where else on earth.
The Tasmanian Conservation Trust urgently needs donations to help protect one of the 10 known habitats of the Spotted Handfish!
The TCT is supporting the local community, who are fighting for the Handfish in the Resource Management and Planning Appeals Tribunal.
The best outcome to protect the Spotted Handfish is for the developer to relocate and redesign the pipeline.
Donate to the TCT to help us pay for a lawyer and marine experts to argue on behalf of these wonderful and endangered creatures in the Tribunal!
We need to raise $20,000. All funds raised from this appeal will go directly to the campaign to protect the Spotted Handfish.
By donating to the TCT you are helping protect Tasmania's beautiful natural environment. We have a proud history of conservation outcomes in Tasmania including establishing the Mt Wellington Reserve, playing an pivotal role stopping the Super Trawler and Tamar Valley Pulp Mill as well as countless local projects.
A donation to the TCT supports work on all of our current campaigns. Some of the most prominent examples are listed here.
At the Tasmanian Conservation Trust we have been fighting hard to protect Tasmania from the Fragrance Towers that are completely out of touch with everything that makes our cities unique.
The Tasmanian Conservation Trust has a proud history of defending the places that Tasmanians and visitors love. We have had some significant wins in our efforts to stop the Fragrance Towers, but there is still more to do. We must keep fighting to ensure that Hobart and Tasmania are not ruined forever.
Your donation will go into a fighting fund that can be used for legal actions, advertising, organising events and reaching thousands of people via social and traditional media.
Our opponents are organised, powerful and wealthy beyond imagination. But they do not have the support of the Tasmanian people.
Donate now to Stop the Fragrance Towers.
All donations of $2 and above are tax deductible and take place over SquareSpace's secure payment system and are processed by Paypal. If you would like to make a payment over the phone or in the mail, please see our contact details
