ABOUT US

The Tasmanian Conservation Trust has been working for over 50 years to preserve and restore biodiversity in the state. We are hiring a casual or part time administrative assistant. The successful applicant will be based in Hobart at the TCT office, and will be part of a small responsive team, working closely with community groups, government bodies and individuals to achieve conservation outcomes for Tasmania.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Regular Duties include:

  • Data entry and data management

  • Using MYOB accounting software and contact databases such as Mailchimp

  • Communication with supporters and donors

  • Processing credit card donations, receipting donations

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Assisting accounts payable

On the job training will see the successful applicant trained up in systems to be able to cover other staff leave and take on other responsibilities as they settle into the role.

Applicants will be required to work a minimum of 1 day a week with the ability to work more as required. With potential for more you will be working under the SCHCaDS industry award [MA000100] under the supervision of the office manager.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria: In your address of the selection criteria please demonstrate that you:

  • Have a passion for Tasmanian environment and democracy

  • Have experience in customer service

  • Have the ability to work in changing environment

  • Have a keen eye for detail

  • Are trustworthy, in particular with regards to sensitive information such as contact lists and payment details

  • Have some accounting or book keeping experience

  • Have knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about administrative requirements of the NGO sector

  • Have spreadsheet maintenance skills, including understanding of basic formulas in excel and google sheets

Desirable: In your address of the selection criteria please discuss whether you:

  • Have campaign experience with an ENGO, community or political group

  • Have experience using accounting software

  • Have Experience with website builders such as Squarespace
